For everyone wondering who is running this store, here's some information about me
It was back in 2011 when I finally went to my first metal concert. Children Of Bodom was my favourite band back then after I stopped listening to the "beginner" bands like Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, System Of A Down.
The gig was great although I nearly died because I slipped on a puddle of beer. I really liked this experience so I tried to attend every metal gig/festival that was possible.
One of my buddys was able to go home with a great memory as you can see on the picture above.
RIP Alexi Laiho!
I think that battlejacket thing started sometime around 2012/13, this was on the way to Nova Rock 2013 as far as I remember:
Remember when I was drunk af at Nova Rock 2013, chilling with Kreator.. some guy took this pic and I received the pictures 3-4 years later because he lost the sheet with my address on it..
I got myself a new vest in 2013 which unfortunately also looked like sh*t, see the comparison below:
As time went by I discovered more and more bands..
so I decided to change a few things and made me this battlejacket (all sewn by hand) :
This "full" vest from 2015 was also featured in Peter Beste's "Defenders Of The Faith" Gallery book.
By time I also got to know more people from the scene in several facebook groups and even met some of them at festivals. And yes, that guy on the back seems to like my vest lol
My current vests/jackets look like this:
In the years after I slowly developed a habit for collecting/selling/trading memorabilia which later on became a hobby. As time went by I was able to build up a pretty decent record collection consisting mostly of firstpressings as well as a plenty of nice patches and a several history pieces in form of shirts.
In April 2019 I decided to set up a bigcartel store and got in touch with "Stoned Jesus" asking them if they are down for a . After a nice chat they approved the project within the next days and that was how "Reduced to Patches" was created.
Later on we also cooperated with the band "Devil's Witches" who approved us a project of a buddy with his artwork, because we had the feel there has to be a DW logo on it - so we went for it!
this was the original draft for the artwork but in the end we agreed on this:
I was happy with the outcome of RTP but not 100% pleased. Why? Because I wanted the best of the best, no matter how much work I have to put in. In the end I pretty much created the store I always wanted to buy from. A store that has a bit of everything.
